France is renowned for its cuisine and here in our corner of Burgundy we have a choice of some very wonderful dining establishments, dine Michelin starred or cosy bistro, the choice is yours, evening chauffeur service is included for your dining pleasure.

Sunday - Paris Rendezvous

At 2pm the owner greets you at your agreed Paris meeting point, hotel, station or airport arrivals lounge for a private transfer to the Randle waiting in the picturesque Burgundy village of Chevroches. Enjoy a Champagne welcome aboard, meet the crew and settle in.  

Before dinner enjoy an evening stroll around nearby Clamecy (pop’ 4,500) an historic town nestled in the rolling landscape of the Nievre from where the Nivernais Canal gets its name. Wander through the meandering cobbled streets with timbered houses to the magnificent 16c church St Martin. Clamecy was also the seat of the bishop of Bethlehem for 600 years before the revolution. 

Evening dining at Hostellerie de le poste

Enjoy a classic French restaurant dinner with relaxed surroundings and extensive wine list. 

Monday - Tour Vézelay 

Chef Geal arrives with fresh croissants and prepares a delicious continental breakfast as we commence our cruise descending onto the river Yonne, past limestone cliffs and a 14c fortified farm Chartreuse-de-Bassville. After stopping for lunch we continue to our destination of the day, Lucy-sur-Yonne (pop’ 151) Visit the 11c church with restored stained glass windows and nearby mill pond.

Our guided afternoon tour takes us to Vézelay, an UNESCO world heritage site and fortified town with Romanesque Basilica dedicated to Mary Magdalene. Stroll the picturesque village with many boutiques, art galleries, cafés, and restaurants.

Evening dining: Aboard the Randle 

Our very own gourmet chef Gael prepares a sumptuous dinner from fresh local produce complemented by premier-cru wine of the region. 

Tuesday - Palaeolithic Cave Paintings  

Continuing along the meandering canal we pass hilltop villages and the magnificent white cliffs of Rochers-du-Saussois, arriving after lunch at Mailly-la-Ville (pop’605) with pretty river mooring. 

Take an Afternoon guided tour to the caves of the Grottes-de-Arcy. A fascinating cave system with stalactites, crystal formations, and over two hundred 28,000 year old Palaeolithic cave paintings representing Bears, Rhino, and Mammoth.

Evening dining :  Auberge-le-Voutenay 

Enjoy a traditional Burgundy feast at the Auberge-le-Voutenay, 

Michelin Starred Chateau Vault-de-Lugny 

For a grand night out dine at a Michelin starred Chateau, Private chauffeur included.

Wednesday - Market Day 

Wednesday is morning market day at the picturesque  village of Noyers-sur-Serein. A medieval fortified village with 15c timber framed buildings with intricate carvings, it is listed as one of the 159 prettiest villages in France, "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France". Home to many artists, a potter, jeweller, and leather worker. Stroll the cobbled streets and market stalls, buy a little something for friends back home. After a delicious lunch aboard the Randle we make an afternoon cruise along the canal and river Yonne to the pretty Village of Accolay (pop’ 467)

Evening dining : Hostellerie-de-la-fontaine

An excellent find and a short walk from our mooring with elegant under-croft restaurant or al fresco dining on balmy evenings.

Thursday - Vineyard Tour 

A morning cruise takes us along the Yonne valley with vineyards coming into view on the hills above. After a gourmet lunch we stop at Vincelles on a pretty river mooring. Enjoy a private tour to the wine villages of Irancy, Chitry, and Chablis. Tour the famous grand-cru vineyards of Chablis or take a private tasting at one of the family vineyards in the surrounding villages.

Evening Dining : Auberge-de-les-tilleuls

With riverside setting close to our mooring chef Alain Renaudin prepares gastronomic dishes from fresh local ingredients.

Friday - Historic Auxerre

River cruising along the Yonne with open vistas past pretty riverside villages. After a sumptuous lunch we arrive to our final destination, the historic town of Auxerre (pop’ 45,000)
A prosperous town since Roman times, the birthplace of Saint Germain, and designated a town of art and history, it is dominated by the 11-16c cathedral St Étienne overlooking the river. A bustling and modern town it maintains its charming 15c timber framed buildings and cobbled streets, a great place for shopping, take our private tour to the cathedral and historic centre or self guide as you wish.

Evening dining : La P’tite Beusaude

A charming restaurant where Jérôme and Sylvie Carpentier focus on traditional Burgundy cuisine. 

Or dine at one of the many excellent restaurants to be found in town. 

Saturday - Sad Farewell 

After a delicious breakfast aboard we bid you au revoir for your private transfer to your Paris hotel, station, or airport departure lounge.
